Caught up!

I finally got myself caught up from this week. It's amazing how you can go for a long time with out a lot to say and then all of a sudden you feel like you could blog something everyday. Happy reading!

The need for speed

Today, Scott got the chance to go to Miller Motorsports Park with a bunch of buddies in the neighborhood to race in the modified Mustangs and the little cart racers. They had a great time, and I am glad he got the chance to go. He said that his favorite part of today was doing something that he doesn't normally get to do (but I think it was not being home to do chores!) He looks forward to this every year. It's good for him to get his competitive side out there every once in a while.

What a great night to trick or treat. It was my year to stay home and pass out candy and I sat on the front porch a good portion of the time. The kids were so cute...we had a couple of rude oldies, but that is to be expected. I just hope that I teach my kids to have fun and not be stupid. Ethan had a blast once he realized what trick or treating was all about. Scott told me that he was running to every house and that the other kids parents were encouraging their sons to catch up with Ethan. And I love that after every house he would tell everyone, "Happy Halloween!" Aiden had fun but got tired after a while and came home to be with me. He was happy watching Spookly and eating his well earned treats. I was afraid that he wouldn't want to put his costume on (he's weird like that) but as you can see, he was sure a handsome little buzz. Camden was a drooly superman, but sure a cute one!

A new hiding place

So, yesterday I was running around trying to get everyone ready for trick or treating and came upon Aiden who had found a new hiding place. Wonder what he was doing in there???? Let's just say it didn't smell pretty!

Neighborhood Parade

For the last two years my neighbor has arranged a parade for the kids in their costumes. It is a lot of fun because you never get to see everyone in their costume for various reasons, plus since the kids usually don't have school, it's a nice activity for them. We meet at her house at the end for doughnuts. I hope it's a tradition that will continue for a long time!

Gardner Village

We made our annual girls lunch at Gardner Village on Wednesday. It was funny because everyone sort of showed up in a bad mood, but we did have a good time regardless. The boys loved the ducks, I wished that I could buy one of every fabric in Pine Needles. All in all it was a good time...the witches were really cute too. And we couldn't have asked for better weather!

What a mess!!

We carved pumpkins on Monday for FHE. It was a lot of fun...Ethan is really starting to get into the fun. Scott found a template of Spongebob to carve into a pumpkin and Ethan thought that was sooo cool. I have to be honest, I don't love carving pumpkins, but it sure is fun to watch your kids have fun. Aiden had fun painting a pumpkin. He was very precise and made sure that the brush went from top to bottom. Fun stuff!
