A new way to sport the diaper...

Aiden woke up this morning, came running down the hall, and this is how he looked.

Cute behind, huh?

P.S. It's a shadow...not what it may look like!

Little brother gets married!!!

So, I know that I mentioned my brother was getting married, I've just been late in posting about it. September 6th was the big day, and it was beautiful too. It was so fun to have Mike and Missy and their family out here...we miss them a lot...and I got to soak in some unusual girl time by painting fingernails, toes, doing hair, etc. It was really fun, and put me (and my boys) out of our element. Ethan keeps asking me what the stuff is on my toes (thanks Heda) and when we were painting fingernails, he was very curious about why we would do something like that...especially his mom. I asked him if he wanted his done and he ran away as fast as he could. We didn't do a lot of activities like we usually do because there was still a lot to do for the wedding. Plus I decided to pack in a baby blessing too. Wow, it was a lot. We did make a trip to Naartjie for winter and fall clothing, and again it was fun to soak up some girl time by pretending I had a girl to put in purple. (Anybody see a theme here??) I also got really spoiled by Madilyn and Missy because they were so nice to keep Camden and my other two happy. It was rare to see one of them without the baby in their arms. Missy and I were trying to figure out how they could get a boy and we could get a girl...but decided it would be expensive.

On another note, I am so happy that Matt has found someone to spend his life with and that makes him happy. It was so awesome to be in the temple with all of my siblings and watch him on his happiest day. I don't remember the last time I saw a smile so big on his face. I know that he and Lyndsey will be happy together and I am glad they found eachother. Welcome to the family Lyndsey, hope you know what you are in for, but I guess you are stuck with us now!! : )

And as a side note, and a small reminder to myself and Scott...remember how awesome it was to look at our family and Lyndsey's family and see that each of the children and their siblings were able to be in the temple. What a great accomplishment for each of the moms and dads who got everyone there...that is my goal someday.

Here are the pictures!

The happy couple!

Cute flower girls
You could tell that Ethan had been around girls a lot this week because they kept talking about being the flower girls at the wedding and wearing pretty dresses etc. When we were getting ready and talking about the wedding, Ethan said, "Yea Mom, the girls are going to be flower girls and I'm going to be the pumpkin boy." Told you he loves his pumpkins!!!

I love this picture of Aiden

Love this one too!

Missy and Cam...Either she or Madi had him unless he needed food. I was spoiled and had a hard time on Monday when they left.

Bompa and Cam at the blessing.

My boys were so good at the temple...I was a bit nervous because Aiden was due for a nap and there was a water fountain. They were very good to not go in the water, but just stick their hands in. I was really proud of them. Ethan was excited to have his picture taken with everyone.

Cam was really hungry in this picture and had been so patient, but I think we pushed him a little too long. I love this picture of the two of them together.

Cute Emma

Silly Ethan

Ethan being told what to do by girls...get used to it, buddy!

My little nephew, Gavin

Camden and his great grandma Harrop (at his blessing)

Grandma Grimm and the Arkansas girls

Another little helper, Malorie. She was always handing someone his blanket or binkie. And was so cute when she wanted to hold him...never really asked, just smiled really big when you asked her if she wanted to hold him. Don't you love her hair?

A rare picture of me on the blog with my sweetie...

Scott and the kids...getting his fill of girl time.

We had a fun week and it was hard to get back into the swing of things. Can't wait to see everyone again at Christmas!

Cam's first weigh in

I took Camden to the doctor today for his 2 month check up and he weighs in at 12 lbs 6 oz. They said he was really healthy, I just wanted to show how pretty his eyes are getting. I have a video to upload, but I can't get it to work tonight so I will try again later....enjoy!

Sleepy head

So, on Mondays I always do laundry and try to catch up on what got neglected from the weekend at my house. Today we added preschool into the mix (happily) and as I was rushing around trying to utilize my time, Aiden must have gotten really tired because as I came around the corner with my vacuum, this is what I found. Poor thing.

I guess he was really tired especially since he fell asleep on our nasty carpet.

Weekend funnies...

So, remember as a kid how you would look for the newspaper to read the comics? Well, I just look for Ethan to make me laugh. This weekend my little brother got married (pics to come later) and we have been having a lot of fun with his cousins from Arkansas. It became very obvious to me that he has spent a lot of time listening to them talk about being pretty flower girls and wearing pretty dresses in the wedding. Well, we were talking about how excited we were for the wedding and he said, "Yea Mom, I get to be the pumpkin boy!" (I told you he loves pumpkins!!)

This afternoon I was going through the newspaper looking at the ads, and I came across some coupons for Chuck E. Cheese's. Ethan has been wanting to go there since his birthday, but being 7 months pregnant at the time, and the fact that it was farther away than I wanted to travel, we opted out. However, we got lucky because they are building one in Layton. So I casually mentioned the find in the newspaper to Scott, and we began talking about earning points to be able to go one day. Scott said to Ethan, "You need to earn some points so you can go because Chuck E. Cheese is a pretty cool place to go." (Really??) To which Ethan replied, "Yea, where a kid can be a kid."

Maybe we watch too much tv.

Camden's Blessing Day

We have had a lot of activities going on this week, one being Cam's blessing. We blessed him on Thursday because my older brother was in town and I really wanted him to be able to help bless my baby. We had a great evening, Scott did a great job with the blessing, and I really felt the blessing this little guy is in our lives. I know I wanted a girl, but man did I hit the jackpot with this little one. I can't imagine my life without him...Love you Cam!

We felt lucky that we got this picture...sorry that there are no smiles!

The shoes on his feet are 34 years old. Every McFarland boy has been blessed in them.

Don't you love this face?

First day of school!!!!!!

Well, we started the first day of the last year of preschool. I can't believe it. Ethan was so excited, but I don't know if he was more excited that his cousins would be here after school or to see teacher Jana again. Or that I let him hold Camden for a picture all by himself. He thought he was pretty cool. I am excited for him to be busy again, he was ready, but I still wish I could put the brakes on time. Before I know it, I will be posting about high school and a mission!!!! Ok, so maybe that is still a ways off...but I know it will sneak up on me!!

A boy and his pumpkin...

Ethan has an obsession every year about this time. Pumpkins. Ever since I can remember he has loved pumpkins and looks forward to them every year. This year he got to help his Grandpa McFarland plant seeds and has been able to watch them grow. He loves it. And everytime we go over for a visit, we have to check them out. So, it is no surprise to me that 1-Grandpa spoiled him and cut one off a little earlier than usual and 2-that Ethan insists that he sleep with the pumpkin. I find that kid carrying it around with him everywhere.

Also, he is really into coloring these days. He got some new markers for the new school year and when you leave the room for 5 minutes, this is what you find. I asked him why he colored his legs and he said, "Well, there was a little pink, so I had to color with all of my markers." Ah, the mind of a child!!!
