Wow!

Wow...seven years, three kids. Today is our anniversary. We sat at dinner tonight and thought of where we might be in the next seven years, and it's scarry to think that Ethan will be 11, Aiden 9, and Camden 7. It's been great for the first seven, here's to a great many more! Love ya Scott!

Mexico sounds nice right now...

We have been cooped up in this house way too long. Going on for 3 weeks now, to be exact. Everyone keeps getting sick! First it started with Aiden's yearly visit of the croop bug. And then Camden got RSV. Thank goodness he wasn't sick enough to be in the hospital, and really, I think we caught it early enough that it didn't get too bad. Then Ethan decided to get a nasty cold, but again, I was on top of it and caught it early, I think. There has been so much to do for the holidays, and when the sick bomb went off, I was only half way to being finished with Christmas. Can you say STRESS??? We are almost on the mend now...Scott is starting his round of antibiotics for a possible strep throat. At one point, I had all three boys on antibiotics at one time. It got so crazy about remembering amounts, times taken, etc., that I actually had to write it all down. Plus on top of that, Camden needed breathing treatments every 4 hours, and it was a lot to remember. So, we found ourselves pretty bored and anxious to get out and breathe fresh air and be on a normal schedule again. Here are some photos of my cute boys. Overall, I have to say that they were AWESOME! They are awesome everyday, but were very patient and for the most part kind to one another. I have decided that sometimes it's nice to shut down and snuggle in and bond as a family. I know that we are so incredibly blessed to have one another, to have overall good health, and to be able to celebrate and create new ways to have the Christmas spirit in our home. It truly is a magical time of year, even if we are sick! I am learning that you have to make the best with what you have. So we did!

A cute boy and his frog. He wanted him included in our family picture...

A rare picture of me on the blog. Have you ever seen such a handsome little boy?

This boy is awesome. I love him so much. His new word is, "Hey Dude, wha's up?"

A famous tantrum. Can you blame him after being sick for a week and a half, and not leaving but to go to the doctor???

Ethan loved the day I declared a pajama day.

Batman came for lunch one day.

Breathing treatment. Sometimes he looked like he was smoking. It was funny.

Sick eyes. Beautiful boy. This is the first day with RSV.

We got creative with our outfits.

We did get a little play time in the snow...

Still sick, but a trooper for mom playing with Bompa's camera!

And of course, a little mischief!

Now, on to our 7 year anniversary, Christmas, and a great time with cousins coming on the 26th. A shot of tropical air could do us some good, right? Only in my dreams...

Five months

I know I probably say this every month, but I can't believe that Camden is five months old. I swore to myself that I would enjoy every possible moment, and I have. But the moments are going by so fast! He is nothing but pure joy in my life and I am grateful that he chose me as his mommy. (Except when he uses me as a teething ring!) Even then I am happy to have him. Unfortuantely for him, he was sick today with his first fever. But he was a trooper! His sparkly blue eyes melt your heart the minute you see him, and he has a great smile and demeanor. We sure lucked out! Now, I've got to go figure out how to slow down time...

Long overdue

So, I have been a slacker lately. I have been in a slump, if I must say. I have had a lot going on with kids and life and me...and it's put me in a slump. So, I will do a little catching up!

First off, Scott took the two older boys up to Bear River Station area a couple of weeks ago to play in the snow and have a guys day out. Ethan was pumped because he got to ride in my dad's big truck and in the rhino...it doesn't take much to make that kid happy. He was also excited to play in the snow. Aiden on the other hand, was not so sure about the snow at first and all the clothing that comes along with playing in the snow...I know what he means. It is a lot of work to get a kid ready for winter playing. That is why I think winter should be banned.

Where was I when they were gone? I went to see Twilight with my sisters and mom. And Camden. Went in with low expectations, and thought it was pretty good. I had a really good time, and a really good break. I am glad that Scott came up with the idea to take the day off. We both needed these outings!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. I can't believe it. Remember how LONG it seemed to be until Christmas when you were little? Now it seems to sneak up on you when you turn around. And I am no where close to being ready. I have had to learn to be sneaky and have relied a lot on my mom to get stuff for me, because this is a year that Ethan knows exactly what is going on. And he wants anything and everything for boys that he sees on commercials. Hope he's not dissapointed! It has been a lot of fun to get all the decorations out and gussy up my house for a little while. But I can't handle the clutter for too long...and I am glad that my boys are leaving things alone. I am surprised because most of my tree is circle shaped ornaments and Aiden loves balls. But as of yet, we have had no problems. Yet, being the key word.

Anyway, back to Thanksgiving. We spent the day with Scott's family and it was a lot of fun. Aiden was in heaven because I let him watch Cars, which is rare for him now because he was so obsessed with it. It was fun to sit and talk with family, play bingo, scout out the ads for the next days adventure, and of course the feast. It was awesome! I hope that I can teach my children all the freedoms they have been given, and ways they can show they are grateful. I look forward to the day when I take my future teenage boys to the homeless shelter to feed others instead of stuffing ourselves. But I am definately not ready to tackle teenagers, so I will stick with my two year old tantrums for now.

Aiden has been doing really well in his early intervention program. It has made a huge improvement in his speech. It is so nice to see such a cute little boy break free from the bubble he was in. We still have a lot to work on, but it is so nice to see communication between him and Ethan and for him to be able to express himself. On the other hand, getting him to this point has taken a lot of work. We have been busy with group therapy and individual therapy a lot. Sometimes four times a week. It has been exhausting, but everytime I want to give up, I dig in a little deeper. It's paying off, so, I am committed.

Camden will be five months old on the seventh. Where does the time go? Again, this makes me feel really old, and makes me wish time could slow down just a little bit. I am pretty sure he is working on his first set of teeth, which always makes me sad. There is something about a gummy smile that is irreplaceable. He is also trying to roll over, but I keep putting the kabosh on that. The longer they are immobile, the easier it will be for me. (Selfish, I know.) He is so awesome and makes me happy. And he sleeps through the night. HOORAY! I often find him playing with his new favorite toy...

If he ever gets really mad or is bored, he is often found playing with his toes, or given the option to grab his toes. I love this stage. Babies are fun.
Well, I guess that is about it. Time to get ready for Christmas, and more of the usual. Wish me luck on getting out of the slump!
