The vacation is over...

And I am very sad. I have had the best 2 weeks because Scott has been off of work since the Wednesday before Christmas. (If he didn't use vacation time, he would lose it) Being in the prime time of sickness (but compared to the other 2, this one is a piece of cake) he stepped in and helped me out big time. I don't know what to do with myself anymore. Laundry? Dishes? Diapers? What is that? I am in trouble...I have been spoiled.
On another note, here is the one and only picture taken when we went to Bear Lake after Christmas, and thanks to Uncle Matt, we can document that we did something. What lame parents we are...Ethan got to have his first snowmobile rides, and not one picture taken. Lame. Here he is with his favorite person getting a raspberry shake.

Happy Anniversary!

Six years ago today, I married the greatest guy. I tried to post a picture, however, I am not that blog savvy. So, instead, I thought I would list 6 things about Scott that I love.

1-He is an amazing dad. He has instilled a passion for things that he loves to do in Ethan, and it is so fun to hear them talk about snowmobiling, motorcycles, or helping eachother out. I know that he will do the same with Aiden, he just needs to get a little bigger.

2-He understands me. I know I am not always the easiest person to live with, and in those moments he makes me laugh and has taught me to not sweat the small stuff. (I still don't do very good at that though)

3-He does my ironing when I have strep throat. One of the chores that I hate the most, and he did it.

4-He loves Christmas so much that he wanted to get married one week before. I didn't really care about the holiday like he does, but I have learned to love it, partly because he gets so excited about Christmas music, lights, and decorations. His excitement has rubbed off on me, and I now expect to watch Christmas movies all December long, including "It's a Wonderful Life!" (I still think it's a little long though)

5-He makes me a better person.

6-He is my best friend. I am lucky to have him in my life, and hope that there are many many more years to come. I love you Scott!

7 years ago today....

I went on the best blind date of my life. And here I am 7 great years later, happy for every year we have had together. Thanks for everything Scott! I love you! (too bad I spent the day with strep throat, but thank you for taking such good care of me and the boys!)

Things I am grateful for

We had a great weekend with my brother and his family who came from Arkansas. We rode the Polar Express, ate good food, went bowling, ate good food...I think you get the picture. We really miss having them around. Ethan and Aiden had the time of their lives. Thanks for the great memories Mom and Dad!

A fond farewell

We had a moment at our house yesterday. Our dog, Carmen, went to live at someone else's home. We felt that we weren't being fair to her, but really were tired of her chewing up everything in sight. The last straw was when she slept in the garage one night this week and shredded her pillow by morning. Hopefully she will have a great time with the new family that came to get her. A lesson learned was that we won't get another dog until my kids can participate in the care and entertainment of a dog. Good luck Carmen!

Something that made me laugh...

Every Sunday morning, we have a family snuggle in our bed. It is so fun and the boys look forward to it every weekend. Today as we were getting ready for the snuggle, Scott said to Ethan, "Are you my best pal?" to which Ethan responded, "No, mom is." Scott said, what am I? and Ethan said, "you are chocolate liver!" (we always say chopped liver) That made me laugh today!
