My neighbors gave us a wonderful view of their yard this week. I have loved watching cars drive by and then stop, back up and even turn around. I am glad that we live across the street from this. It has made this week even more fun! Mark and Gretchen are lucky to have a brother that actually paints this up at the U on fields and stuff, so it is authentic. Here's to a great game tomorrow...GO UTES!!!!!!!!!!

You know you're a mom of boys when...
You find yourself laughing at the ketchup bottle making farting sounds.

A day in the life
My friend Debbie posted this on her blog, and I thought it was a fun idea. I wanted to see just how little I am able to accomplish some days. So far, I think today will be busy as usual.
3:30--up with Aiden. Scott took the shift, but asked me to get a snack. Guess Aiden needs to eat more dinner, right?
4:30am.--Aiden is up, walking around, trying to go downstairs. (Or find me). Scoot over and make room for one more!
various times in the 2 hours he is in my bed--kicked in the head, slapped in the face and Scott was headbutted because he kept fighting over space on his pillow. Needless to say, I'm tired already and I'm not out of bed yet.
7 am--Camden is up! Time for his breakfast.
7:30--Ethan is up. Send boys to watch tv while I finish feeding Camden
7:45--feed boys breakfast as well as myself. Check blogs and email
8:20--get Ethan ready for school. Already dodging the "who can I play with after school" bullet. Fight with him about not wearing the same clothes he wore yesterday. He wins. I was up too early to stick to my guns today.
8:30--Lay Camden down. Guess my shower won't happen for awhile. Check email again and talk to my sister.
8:35--Get Aiden dressed and do joint compressions and brushing. This is a whole other chapter in my day. I will add that later.
8:50--Yell to Ethan to come get socks and shoes because it's time to take him to school.
8:55--Take Ethan to school.
8:57--Listen to Aiden talk about the Wiggles all the way home from school. Debate on whether to let him watch for a little bit or not...
9:00--give in to Aidens request. I know he won't watch very much, and I have to run to the store and feed the baby. Also, re-check out my library book that I haven't gotten very far in, but don't want to return because I am enjoying it.
9:05--strip my bed and regretfully take down the port a crib in my room. Camden is on his own! This day always makes me sad...
9:15--Camden takes the shortest nap in history...hurry and finish my bed
9:20--Feed Cam.
9:50--Finish the pillows on my bed, change poopy diaper
10:10--take down port a crib for real this time, get boys ready to go to the store
10:20--load the car for the store. I need milk.
10:50--leave the store so I can pick Ethan up from school.
11:05--unload the car, unload the boys, lay Camden down for a nap
11:15--get boys a drink, put away groceries
11:30--look through Ethan's school bag, get ready for lunch
12:15--finish lunch, look at all the dusting we get to do today. Then put Aiden in timeout for pushing Ethan.
12:30--finally get Aiden calmed down, and to apologize. Check on Camden
Debate on whether I should dust or work on writing with Ethan
12:35-- decide to dust and make the boys help me. They have been fighting, so I hope this is a good distraction.
12:45--found Aiden hiding. That only means one thing. Go change him.
12:45--Camden wakes up and wants to eat. Work on Ethans writing while feeding the baby.
1:15--finally make the boys beds, with a little assistance. Lay Aiden down for a nap.
1:30--play with Camers.
2:00--start Ethan's quiet time. We will see how quiet it really is today!
2:05--change another poopy diaper...feed baby before his next nap.
2:30--can't quite get the motivation to get up and get going. Decide to sit for a few minutes.
2:45--Mom time is over. Ethan needs a snack. We snuggle and talk and sing Rudolph and Jingle Bells
3:00--get a call from the dentist office. Ethan and Aiden have an appointment tomorrow, and Aiden needs paperwork filled out. Call and get the website and print off the papers. Fill them out.
3:15--finish filling out paperwork...attack a pile of clothes on my bed.
3:50--finish folding laundry and debate on a shower. Is it worth my time at 4 in the afternoon??? Call my bro and wish him a happy birthday! Attempt #1 to get the boys to come up and put away laundry.
4:00--baby wakes up, wants to eat
4:30--go do more brushing with Aiden, then play and bounce Aiden on the exercise ball while thinking about what's for dinner
5:00--Ethan is still asleep. Try to wake him up.
5:15--Scott comes home. HOORAY!!!!
5:30--decide that dinner will be a gourmet meal of waffles. Yum. Head down to fix them.
5:30--think about FHE for the night.
6:00--feed Cam
6:30--finish dinner and clean up. Scott works on homework with Ethan, we finally get laundry put away.
6:45--FHE. Talk about gratitude and read a scripture story.
7:00--get boys in pj's so we can watch Kung Fu Panda for the activity.
7:15--start movie. Get antsy...decided to go upstairs and finish working in my bedroom.
8:00--feed Camers
8:30--bathe Cam and play with him.
9:00--big boys upstairs and to bed. Yahoo!
9:10--work more on blog, check email, watch a tv show that I am way behind on
rest of the night--think about tomorrow, and how I can be better. Fold more laundry and talk to Scott about his day tomorrow.
11:00--lights out...if I make it that long.
So, I can now understand a little why I never feel like my house is clean, despite my attempts. Most days I feel like a chicken running with it's head cut off. Don't really know how to fix it...every time I turn around, there is a new mess freshly made. But, I enjoy it. It's my job. My kids are great. It's a good challenge for me!

Yes, I know I'm weird
1-Don't even think about touching my feet. They are ugly, I hate them, and I hate when they are even brushed a little.
2-Scott says I am not as quiet as I appear. That's just because he lives with me.
3-I lived with my brother and sister in law for my senior year of high school. (My parents lived in Colorado for my dad's job) It's amazing at how a mom can be a mom long distance. She still kept me out of trouble.
4-I enjoy folding laundry. Scott knows this and doesn't even need to ask to help because he knows I will say, no.
5-I enjoy wearing flip flops all year long. That is probably why I have such ugly feet.
6-I once went waterskiing with my brothers the day after Thanksgiving. It was cold. But fun. I've never seen anyone waterski with a wool hat on. Kindof an oxymoron, huh?
7-I have flown in a blimp before. It was pretty cool. Thanks Walmart!

The award for the worst mom ever goes to...
ME! Tonight Scott went with his brothers to see the new James Bond. (I had NO interest) I think it's healthy for the parents to get away when they can, even if it's not together. I was happy for him to go. However, in the time that he was gone, I realized what a horrible mother I am. Tomorrow is my mom's birthday...and I thought it would be fun to finger paint with pudding while Scott was gone, but I didn't have any chocolate pudding. And I didn't feel like hauling 3 kids to the store for one box of pudding. So, we decided to just color a picture. As I was going to get the crayons, I came across water color paints. And it dawned on me that Ethan, who is closer to 5 than 4 has never painted a picture with water colors. Ever. He has been really interested in painting lately because Aiden did a finger painting at his sensory group this week and I have it hanging up in the kitchen. I think Ethan feels deprived. It gets worse...as we were painting, Ethan said, "Mom, if you mix blue and red together, it makes purple." Yes, it does, but had I been a good mom and painted with you before now, I wouldn't feel so horrible that you are just figuring that out. I was always one of those that had the list of things I will always do and things I won't ever let my kids do kind of people. Maybe I just need to get back to my list in my head and start over! Sorry for depriving you of a good time boys! I promise not to do it again! Here's to a new mom!

Overwhelmed...
Well, what can I say? I am definately feeling the effects of having three children all of a sudden. Today I am reminicing about the days when my children would sleep through the night...last night at about 4 I heard a thumping noise underneath my bed and found out that it was Aiden having a party. It was one of those that you aren't sure that you heard something, but then sure enough you did. I only figured out it was him when I heard a small "Hi daddy". Then Cam has decided that sleep is over rated and not for him. He thinks we should party at 4, 5 , 6, and 7! And he has decided that his favorite spot is in my arms, resting on my hip. At least I am getting a work out with my arms! And let's not forget Ethan. He thinks he NEVER gets to take show and tell to school...but obviously that is not the case. Today, he put snot rod (from Cars) in his hat to sneak. I thought his hat looked funny, so I ripped it off and voila! Busted. Keeping up with everyone is challenging. I don't know how that lady in Arkansas with 18 kids does it. Anyway, I'm done with my pitty party...I am blessed, I know. Just tired.

Whoa!
Scott was getting the boys ready for bed tonight and combed Ethan's hair. Think it's time for a haircut? I can't decide if we should let the mullet continue or not....
