4 years ago today...

I sat in the hospital holding a beautiful baby boy, wondering what I had just done to myself and if I was really up to the task. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, I just couldn't believe that I actually was at that moment. How grateful I am to be the mom to Ethan, and how he changed my life forever. I love being with him everyday and laughing and playing together. I love teaching him and how he teaches me. We may have our moments of frustration with eachother, but I wouldn't trade my life for the world!

Some of the things that I love the most about Ethan is his soft heart, how he loves to make friends with ANYONE (sometimes that really worries me and we have lots of stranger talks) how he loves to help me around the house, how he is such a great big brother who is concerned about Aiden yet still big brother enough to tease him, how he worries about me having a baby and having medicine in my hand and if it will hurt, his big brown eyes, his long eyelashes, his dimples, his talent of noticing wheels and rims on cars (it can't be genetic, can it?) how he still says a prayer every night for the dog we got rid of almost 8 months ago, his mischevious side, how he calls me his girl, and most of all, the fact that I get to enjoy this wonderful gift every day. I am so blessed to be his mom, and I am grateful that he has the patience to deal with me as I learn to be a mom. I love you Ethan, Happy Birthday!!!

And by the way, I went to his preschool today to spotlight him to his class, and he was so excited to tell his dad about his girlfriend Caroline who wears bows in her hair. He said, "Dad, this is Caroline, she's my girl." "Mom, you got bumped."
