A good day...

As a mom, I look forward to the days that I had today. Nothing special happened, well to you at least. To me, today was the day that I wish I could have every day. It was the kind of day that hardly ever happens, but when it does, you go to bed thinking "I could do this more. What did I do right today, and how can I make it happen again? Could we have two days in a row please??"

My kids got a long beautifully. They shared. They loved one another. They helped each other out. They didn't tease. I didn't have to say, "Be nice or go to time out"...I think you get the picture. Ethan let me rest. I got my bathroom clean AND the floor boards cleaned. They ate all their lunch and dinner. Aiden didn't hit me in the tummy or face. He was more patient and was better about telling me what he wanted instead of screaming at the top of his lungs. I got to go to enrichment tonight and feel like a person instead of a tired mommy. There was no messing around when it came time to put on pajamas...it was done before I could turn around. And when I came home, toys were picked up, there was harmony in the home, and laughter. It was great. Two of the best moments happened in the last 45 minutes before the boys went to bed, so I thought I would share.

When I walked in, Ethan was shirtless, Scott was shirtless, and they were beginning their wrestling match for the evening. When Aiden saw that they were getting ready for the smack down, he wanted in, but couldn't figure out how to get his shirt off so he could be like the boys. So there he stood, in the middle of the match, holding up his shirt and looking at his belly like, "don't forget about me, help the little guy out!"

The last thing was when Ethan and Scott were having their nightly snuggle and man talk. Ethan said to Scott, "Dad, do you know who bed for you?" To which Scott replied, "What?" "Do you know who bed for you?" And Scott said, "No, who?" E said, "Jesus, because He loves us very much." It was a great story to hear after such a great day. I gotta figure out how to have more smooth days!!!

That does sound like a good day! We have to remind ourselves of those good moments, because life is also full of some crazy moments! I know what you mean, some days seem to go smoother that others and then some just seem extra crazy! Those good days and moments make it all worth it! Jen you are such a good mom!
